Kaysville City

Matt and I have loved living in Kaysville!
Our neighborhood is so cute, and everyone
is very nice!
It is perfect for us!

One of the holiday traditions in Kaysville is
the lighting of the town, and the light parade!
This event took place last night!

They have a band playing, free hot chocolate,
and lots of people!

Everybody counts down from 10, and then
Ruth lights the town!
I have no idea who ruth is.
All the trees light up and everyone cheers,
then we line up along the road for the
light parade!
my camera died, so this is from my phone.. kinda crappy
they passed out candy and people were singing christmas songs!
It was so much fun!

After this parade we all went back to Matt's sisters
house for some home made chili and corn bread!
mmmmm :)

It was a great night!
Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving Week!

I love Thanksgiving!!
It is probably my favorite Holiday!
This year was especially fun because it was mine
and Matt's first thanksgiving together!

I woke up early Thanksgiving day, and made
my yams and fruit salad! Then we went to the movie
with my family, then over to Matt's family's for dinner!
This year everyone either had to dress as an
Indian or Pilgrim!
we were indians :)
after our eventful day, I made my first
adventure out to do some
black friday shopping!
It was so fun! We started getting in line at 10pm,
and I got home around 5:30am!
I finally went to bed around 6:30, then got up at 8 to
go to breakfast before our next adventure!
I've had a head ache all day
We went to cut down our very first
Christmas Tree!!
It is perfect for us!

After that we went to my mothers to get our
Christmas Lights, and while we were there we sat down
to watch a movie with the grandkids!
Courtney is obsessed with "Map" (matt) and
 she loved snuggling with him!
So cute!!

After all these events took place, we finally headed home to
 decorate the tree!
I can't wait for our first Christmas together! :)
Such a great week! :)

in case you are wondering.. I still haven't slept. yikes.

How does this happen?

This is the kind of student I once was...

Then I turned into this..

And I'm affraid It is going to get worse.

How do you supposed I get back to where I used to be? I used to love school,
and now I'd rather do anything else BUT school.

19 days left of this horrible semester...
hopefully I get everything done that I need to.

19 November 2010

Finally

I have been waiting for this all year!
Matt and I finally get to go to a BYU football game this weekend!
I can't believe this is the first one of the season for me!
Matt is a little worried about the rain or snow that may be occuring during game time...
But I dont mind at all.. I'll just hang out by the concessions stand and stay dry.
I make multiple trips there anyway during the game!

either way, I can't wait

Emily and Colton are hopefully attending the same game, so we can meet up for a
cougar tail and hot dog!

15 November 2010

Just a few things...

to look forward to.

I have been wanting to update the last few days,
but I don't have time to upload my pictures from my camera,
and to be honest, not that much has been going on!

maybe in the next month, my life will finally be exciting again!

The semester ends in just a few weeks, and if I can survive until then,
life will be
g r e a t.

Another thing to be excited about...
since I work for the school district,
I get 3 days off for Thanksgiving.... and
drum roll please
two full weeks off for Christmas!!
thank heavens.

I can't wait to go sledding, go to temple square,
watch christmas movies,
participate in the Kaysville "light parade" (Ruth, light the town!)
decorate our christmas tree, I already have all my tree ornaments, thank you Jenn
and last but not least..
finally get to spend time with my family and Matt
and not be worried about the homework I'm not doing!

So for all of you haters towards this time of year...
 I can't f r e a k i n g wait!!!!!!!!!

Bring on the snow, frosted windows, and bundling up...
because all of that means I finally get a break!!

ps. the song on my blog is dedicated to my dear husband.
he requested that i put it on..
so while you listen to the craziness
dance in your chair or something! might as well! :)

Matthew Shawn & Emily Dawn

how convinient that their names rhyme... :)

The only two people that read this.

If I make this private, you two will be the only ones I need to invite. That makes it easy.

Thanks.

Love you both

g r a t e f u l

I have just been thinking lately about my life....
and how great it is.

I couldn't ask for anything better, and I wish everyone could be as happy as I am.

Even though we all have trials and we all experience hard times,
we need to always remember what we do have.

So I am grateful, and thankful for everything I  have been given.

have a great day!
:]

p.s. I love Matt so much, and in the last week
I have been reminded of how
lucky I am to have him, all to myself!

03 November 2010

It's the most wonderful time..

This really is the best time of the year!
as much as I love summer, the hot sun, swimming, and vacations...
I can not get enough of the holidays! :)

First we have,
Thanksgiving:
I love everything about this celebration! I love going to the movie with my family, the smell of dinner cooking, eating until we could puke, and just being all together! This year will be a little different though because we now get to split holidays! So Thanksgiving this year will be spent with the Olsen's! Then I am sure later in the day we will make it over to my family's for a visit! Matt thinks this is a little strange of me.. but probably my very most favorite thing about this day is.....

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
I have watched this event every year for as long as I can remember!
I hope one day I can actually go to it!!

Next there is
Christmas:

Who doesn't love this holiday! Seriously. I can't wait to put up my very own christmas tree and participate in all the festivities! Christmas will be spent with my family, and it is never a disappointment! :) Brittany is really excited for the slumber party! ha. We always watch the Muppet Christmas Carol (which in my opinion is the best christmas movie ever made) and have lots of parties! It will be so fun, I can hardley wait!!

Then to finish it all off, we get to celebrate,
New Years Eve:

This holiday is pretty fun, and hopefully this year it will be even more fun! Matt and I really want to go to California over New Years, and we are doing just about everything we can to get there! :) It's crazy to think that 2011 is just around the corner, but I couldn't be more excited! I am sure next year will be full of lots of new adventures and I can't wait to see what will happen in our little lives!

So, Happy Holiday's Everyone!
I hope you are all as excited as I am! :)
